Since moving into new, purpose built premises, we have achieved
ISO 14001 accreditation, FSC & PEFC certification and commit to strict energy saving and re-cycling targets. These bring added financial benefits
– a significant rebate as part of a climate change levy agreement and increased revenue through supplying better quality waste.
The new building was designed specifically for minimal environmental impact; the lighting throughout is highly energy efficient, a sophisticated waste extraction system sucks up all paper waste from presses, guillotines, folders and stitching lines and transports it to two compactors. In turn a micro chip system fires SMS and e mail messages when the compactors
are filling up, to trigger a vehicle to collect the waste.
Following an intensive audit of our environmental management system,
the ISO 14001 standard has been renewed. Particular mention was made
of the impressive level of staff buy–in throughout the company – a result
of ongoing internal marketing campaigns and encouraging staff to come
up with their own ideas for re-cycling and energy savings.
FSC and PEFC certification have given the company significant commercial benefits and just as important, this gives our customers the opportunity
to support the responsible management of forests worldwide.
